Planning To Move Over Christmas?

Christmas can be an exciting but stressful time of the year so if you’re planning on moving over the Christmas holidays, we’ve listed below a couple of tips to help you prepare.
Book your removal company early
During the Christmas period most companies are busy so it’s essential to get your appointment booked well in advance. Some companies have reduced staff numbers during this time of the year so if you request a service last minute, your chances of it going ahead are quite slim.
Prep for the bad weather
It’s not Christmas without snow. Whilst this may look great whilst you’re indoors it can be potentially problematic on your moving day. Plan accordingly by monitoring the weather forecast, taking care to grit your pathway, driveway and the pavement outside your home. This will help to stop any snow piling up and reduces the risk of injury for the removal team and damage to your possessions. It’s also worth having extra clothes ready so everyone can stay warm!
Pack your Christmas decorations separately
To really get in the Christmas spirit, you’re likely going to want to put up your decorations in your new home fairly quickly. You may want to pack your Christmas presents and decorations in a separate box to avoid losing them amongst the all your personal items!
Sort out your Utilities
This is very important when you move in the winter because you need to make sure your new home has central heating, water and electric, otherwise Christmas will be much more stressful than it needs to be. It’s particularly crucial if you’ve got relatives or friends coming to stay and a Christmas dinner to cook!
